It was founded in Khartoum on 18 November 2003 as Auttash Association for Peace and Development under the Humanitarian Aid Commission Act of 1995 and the 1999 national organizations regulations. The name was changed to Auttash Organization for Peace and Development in October 2009. It operates across Sudan (the capital and the states) as a voluntary charitable non-profit whose resources are used solely to achieve its objectives.
